Alfred F. McAteer Obituary

Alfred F. McAteer, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Hope Hospice Palliative Care of RI. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Smith) McAteer. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred B. and Mary (Cabral) McAteer. Mr. McAteer was a truck driver and warehouse manager for Greylawn and also served in the Army National Guard. He was a former president and life-time member of the Laurel Hill Social Club. Alfred was the loving father of Paul P. McAteer and Michael J. McAteer; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Joseph P. McAteer.

His funeral service will be held Friday March 6, 2020 at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours, Thursday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906, will be appreciated for his wife who suffers from this illness.
