Alicia Louise Lake (Richards), 89, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur E. Lake. Born in New Brunswick, NJ., on May 31, 1931 to the late Forrest Edward and Helen Ethel (Roarke) Richards.
She was a graduate of Colby- Sawyer Junior College for Women in New London, New Hampshire.
In 1949 Alicia married Arthur Edward Lake from Braintree, MA. In 1965 they moved to Greenville, R.I. and raised three sons, Christopher, Jonathan and Andrew.
Besides working for three travel agencies in Providence, she and her husband also ran their own travel business at home named “Halcyon Ways”. Over the years, Alicia conducted numerous personalized driving tours around Great Britain, southern France and Switzerland sharing her love for Europe and its rich history.
After her husband’s death in 2009, she lived a quiet life and rescued three German Shorthaired Pointer dogs, which were her favorite breed.
She survived by her oldest son Christopher, her youngest son Andrew and four grandsons.
In honor of her memory, please donate to a local no-kill shelter or animal rescue league.
