Dorothy M. Buccini Obituary

Dorothy M. Buccini, 95, died Saturday, February 1, 2020. She was the wife of the late Dante E. Buccini. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Adeline Golato. She was the beloved mother of David L. Buccini and his wife Eileen, Stephen J. Buccini, Sr. and his wife Stasia, and the late William E. Buccini; grandmother of Angela Merritt, Vicki Corvese, Stephen J. Buccini Jr., Kelly Buccini, Nikki Buccini, Alexandra Buccini, Jared Greene and Jeremy Greene; great-grandmother of Jarred, Justin and Jason Cipriano, Jason and Giani Corvese. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Evelyn Bove, Anna Pinga and Nicholas Golato. An avid cook, she was particularly renowned for her Sunday meatballs and holiday cookies. She will, however, be best remembered as a woman whose life was spent in proud service to her family, and in humble devotion to God.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889 will be appreciated.
