McLaughlin, Elizabeth C., (McGetrick), "Betty," 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Home & Hospice Care of RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. McLaughlin and a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Kelleher) McGetrick. Mrs. McLaughlin had been formerly employed as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Co. Betty was a humble and compassionate person who loved her family deeply. She was the devoted mother of Karen A., John K., Elizabeth A., Sheila K. McLaughlin and the late Robert A. McLaughlin, Jr.; sister of Patricia Costa, and the late Arlene McGetrick, James McGetrick, Gerald McGetrick, Marjorie Young, Imelda McGetrick and Stephen McGetrick; mother-in-law of Suzanne McLaughlin and Philip Gloudemans; grandmother of Christine, Katie, Ryan, Denise and Brenna; great grandmother of Grace, Caroline, Paul and James; sister-in-law of Dr. John McLaughlin.


Her funeral will be held Monday, August 3, at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, Fair Street at 10 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7.
