Gary F. Crandall, age 69 of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 22, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Penkala) Crandall for 37 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raymond T. Crandall and Shirley L. (Sturtevant) Crandall.
Gary enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was later employed as a purchasing agent with the VA Medical Center in Providence for 25 years.
He was the loving father of Sgt. Bradford Crandall U.S. Army (Shinnon), Steven Crandall (Kara). Gary enjoyed coaching his sons in CLCF Pop Warner football and was active in Cranston West High School Fundraising. He also leaves his cherished granddaughter, Kingsley. He was the brother of Diane Crandall, Kevin Crandall (Diane), Sharon Crandall, Gregory Crandall (Dawn), Keith Crandall (Lisa), and Dawn Crandall (Chet) and the late Thomas Crandall. Gary also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Gary was also a member of the Greystone Social Club of North Providence.
His funeral service will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11 AM in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt. 44), Greenville. Visiting hours Sunday 1-3 PM. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
