Hugh A. Fisher, 68, died on Monday, December 21, 2020 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Vera G. (McNorton) Fisher, and son of the late Clarence A. “Sonny” and Rita E. (Sweeney) Fisher, Jr.
Hugh had been in the real estate business for over 40 years. Passionate about new construction from the start, he built his first home in 1976. Over the years, Hugh built 1,400 homes for families in RI. Hugh was President of h.a. Fisher Homes and a member of the RI Builders Association and the RI Realtors Association. A man of deep Christian faith, he was a long time member of Narragansett Bay Baptist Church in Warwick.
He was the loving father of Sarah T. (Fisher) Bastajian and her husband Roupen, and Zachariah A. Fisher and his wife Sarah. He also leaves three grandchildren, Roupen S., Sela R. and Garen G. Bastajian. He was a brother of Edward J. Fisher, Rita C. Johnson, Patricia A. Little, and John J. Fisher. Lastly, Hugh was predeceased by his great friend and business partner of 48 years, Stephen F. Moulton, with whom he ran Sturbridge Home Builders, as well as his wife Julia and family.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 10am-12pm, with a service at 12 noon at Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be private. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
