Josephine A. Celeste Obituary

Josephine A. (Catalano) Celeste, 84, passed away Sunday November 10, 2013. She was the wife of the late Philip Celeste. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Gennaro and Filomena (Tufano) Catalano. She lived in North Providence for 60 years before moving to Smithfield. Mrs. Celeste was an Administrator at the Golden Crest Nursing Home and was a nursing home inspector for the State of RI Dept. of Health before retiring. She was also a real estate agent and owner of the former Celeste Realty. She is survived by her children: Jo Ann Vincent and her husband Michael Vincent, Sr., Michelle "Mickey" Parrillo, Pamela Palumbo with whom she lived and Philip Celeste and his partner John Bonasera. She was the loving grandmother of Joel Parrillo, Michael and Alisha Vincent, Seth Beauchaine and Nicholas Palumbo. She was the sister of Nancy DaSilva, Agnes Visnaw, Eleanor Cappadona and the late Sam, Domenic, Gennaro "Jerry" and Michael Catalano.
Her funeral will be held Friday November 15, 2013 at 9am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44), Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in RI Veteran Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Thursday 4-8pm.
