Mary E. Young Obituary

Mary E. (Clough) Young, 93, a lifelong Smithfield resident, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020. She was the wife of the late George H, Young, Sr. Born in Auburn, ME, she was the daughter of the late George and Eva E. (St. John) Clough. Mary was a medical secretary for the late Dr. Anthony Broccoli for over 30 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville and loved spending time with her church “Buddies”. She was an impeccable housekeeper and enjoyed riding her John Deere lawnmower. Mary loved to bake and knit and all new babies received a Grandma Young sweater. Mrs. Young was also an avid NE Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.
She was the loving mother of George H. Young, Jr. and his wife Bernice and David R. Young and his wife Kathryn all of Smithfield. She truly loved her 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late George Clough. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Thomas Church, Smith Ave., Greenville, RI 02828 will be appreciated. Her Funeral and Burial will be private.
