Born in Providence, RI
Resided in Scituate, RI
Paul DiPippo, 70, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019, at home surrounded by love and family. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (White) DiPippo. Paul was born in Providence, October 29, 1948, the son of the late Adolph L. and Ida I. (Sargino) DiPippo.
He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School after which he was a truck driver before becoming a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at the Junction Human Services. Before retiring, he was a self-employed contractor doing home renovations, home repairs, vinyl siding and carpentry.
Paul loved football. He played for the Teramano Social Club and was proud of his team winning a National Championship in 1988. His favorite team was the New England Patriots from the time they were the Boston Patriots until the present. His favorite pastimes were fishing in the Scituate Reservoir for which he never got caught, hiking, camping and biking. He also enjoyed yard work, gardening and taking care of his fruit trees. Every fall he would go mushrooming for buttons, yellow oaks, brown oaks and senoritas which he would share with his friends and family. His favorite vacation places were the White Mountains and the Poconos. He also loved his down times just relaxing in his hammock and sitting by a backyard campfire. The only thing Paul truly didn’t like was shoveling snow and painting walls.
He was a fun loving guy and a little bit mischievous. He would get a gleam in his eye that let you know he was up to something. He loved telling “Dad” jokes, too.
Most of all, he loved his family and friends. He loved backyard family barbecues and even enjoyed cooking on the grill. And he liked to go to parties and weddings because he liked to dance with his favorite dance partner, his wife.
He was warm, caring and always willing to help where he could - family, friends and neighbors. He loved children especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife he leaves behind a son, Paul D. DiPippo of East Providence; a daughter, Christie Anna Kallio of North Providence; three brothers, Robert DiPippo and wife Roxane, Pasquale DiPippo and wife Denise and Gregory DiPippo all of Cranston; one sister, Esther Major of Cranston. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren, Allison E, Jenna R., Margaret T, and Anthony J. Spetrini; Mattie E., Ysabella A., and Emily A. Brown; three great-grandchildren; Angelia R. Spetrini, Brielle R. and Julian T. Kennedy. He was the father of the late Angel A. Brown and brother of the late Adolph L. “Butch” DiPippo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the TUCKER-QUINN- Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Avenue (Rt. 44) Greenville, RI with a service at 3:00 pm.
