Ronald A. Jessop Obituary

Ronald A. “Ronnie” Jessop, 70, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Gillian E. Jessop. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Herbert and Olga Jessop. Ronnie was a hardworking, self-made man and a successful business owner of Eastern Lobster Inc., a local fishing and logging business. From the time he was a young man, Ronnie knew that on the water was where he was meant to be. Being on the ocean was not work, it was a way of life - even vacations were spent on remote tropical islands surrounded by blue waters.
He leaves two children, a son, Ronnie Jessop Jr. and his wife Kari of ID, and a daughter, Shay Waltermire of OR; two step-daughters, Chantel Campbell-Goutcher of FL and Tanya Baldwin of RI; a brother, Randy Jessop and his wife Rosemary of RI; one granddaughter, Karissa; four step-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mason, Gillian, and Gianna; many loving nieces; and many fishing industry friends from Narragansett, RI who were his second family and supported him over many years.
The family will be celebrating Ronnie’s life privately.
